Sam Karam and Sons, led by Andre Karam has done work on our Historic New Bedford home over many years. I can report that working with them has always been a very positive experience with very positive results. I always call Andre first for an estimate, and he is always fair and timely. I have every confidence in him and the work of His employees and have hired him for projects both large and small.

First know I have had many people work on my home in the past 20+ years. I would leave a review for maybe 2 of them. But Sam Karam’s crew was unbelievable. They showed up on time and did the most beautiful job in such a timely manner. I was seriously shocked and so impressed with the work and my skylight is gorgeous. Our roof was leaking after a huge storm. I called multiple contractors and, out of 12, about half showed up. The rep from Sam Karam & Sons was super polite and professional. He also told us exactly what we needed and what we did not. Low pressure and knowledgeable. They were also the only contractor that could get a crew to our house the next day. They showed up when they said they would, finished in 2 days, were very neat and clean, and the roof looks great. I’ve dealt with others before but these guys are top-notch. Going to use these guys for our kitchen remodel.

Three other companies have been to my home for repairs. They were nothing other than RUDE and CONDESCENDING. I was absolutely desperate for help to repair my roof. Two OTHER contractors just walked away! It took me another 6 months to work up the courage to call yet another. I called Sam Karam & Sons. They looked at my roof, explained all repairs needing to be done, and I had an estimate in 2 days. The next thing I knew I had a brand new roof and gutters! This was almost 2 years ago now, and I have continued to call Sam Karam & Sons for help with MANY more projects in my home. They have continued to stick by me and help me with my vision while also offering advice and guidance along the way. You will not experience a more professional, straightforward, respectful, courteous, and personable group of people in another company.

I cannot recommend Sam Karam & Sons highly enough. They are extremely professional and thorough from start to finish. David Hebert listens carefully, asking questions to help the client think through all possible scenarios to ensure that the end result will be just what you want. We reworked the estimates over several weeks to eliminate any unnecessary extras while retaining the main focus of the project. I greatly appreciated David’s attention to detail. We went to suppliers to compare products and he explained thoroughly why they recommended one over another. They use only the best materials and do not cut corners.

The architectural design phase was also helpful, as it provided an opportunity to reassess what aspects of the original scope were essential, what might be less so, and make adjustments accordingly. Their flexibility while adhering to best practices/industry standards made them perfect planning partners.

When they encountered something unanticipated (e.g. wood rot on the sill after removing the old deck; a broken concrete base for the deck stairs; a major design change) they consulted one another along with me to address the problem thoroughly before proceeding. Their crew is incredibly hard-working, cleaning up completely at the end of each day which often starts first thing in the morning and ends around 7 at night. The crew, to a man, is respectful and accommodating.

The work was completed in a timely manner, despite shortages in supplies and delivery issues due to Covid; and well within budget.

From many decades of working with builders, I can unequivocally state that they go above and beyond. I have never worked with a finer group. It is my pleasure to recommend Sam Karam & Sons without reservation.
